The PLIDA certificate is an official diploma offered exclusively in Johannesburg by the Dante Alighieri Society. It is issued in accordance with an agreement with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Act No. 1903 of 4 November 1993) and under the aegis of ‘La Sapienza’ University of Rome (agreement of 29 June 2004). The PLIDA certificate is also recognized by the Italian Ministry of Labour and Social Policies (decree of 18 October 2002) and by the Italian Ministry of Universities & Research (Ref. No. 1906 of 9 October 2006) as a qualification to facilitate university enrolment of foreign students.
Should you require a certificate of competence in Italian, you can write a PLIDA (Progetto Lingua Italiana Dante Alighieri) exam.
It certifies your competence in writing, reading, listening and speaking at six different levels.
The exam will be written at our premises, but it will be sent to Rome for evaluation.
The available dates are April and November for levels A1, A2, B1, B2.
You can prepare on your own and write the exam, or you can follow our PLIDA preparation course which will you prepare on the structure of the paper.
You need to be a member of Dante Alighieri to write the exam.
